IMAGin® Verde™ Digital Print Media VM1229P is a 100% chlorine and phthalate free film. It is 3.1-mil gloss white, topcoated modified polyolefin film designed for digital printing. The product is coated on one side with a permanent, grey, acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive and supplied with an 86# Kraft liner. VM1229P is designed for indoor or medium-term outdoor advertising and promotional applications on flat or slightly curved surfaces. Verde products are REACH* compliant.

INTENDED FOR:
This media is designed for wide format printing with eco-solvent, solvent-, latex and UV-cured inkjet. To achieve the best possible print quality, please make sure that the correct ICC profiles or printer settings are used. Profiles can be obtained from our Distributors or can be downloaded from www.mactac.com. Printer and heater settings and ICC profiles can also be downloaded from some O.E.M. or software manufacturer’s websites. The ICC profiles are provided solely as a customer resource. Print environments, the individual nature of printing systems, inks and software can significantly affect output. It is the customer’s responsibility to determine the suitability of any profile for use in their specific print environment.

1) The user is responsible for determining the product’s suitability, including adhesion and if needed, removal characteristics when used in applications other than listed specifically in this Performance Guide.

2) If there are any questions about applications, please contact your MACtac sales representative to discuss your requirements for recommendations.

3) If this is a printed Performance Guide it is an uncontrolled document. Please check the MACtac website for the latest, most up-to-date version.

DURABILITY:
The outdoor durability of the unprinted film is 2 years. Overlamination of the inkjet-printed material with PermaColor or IMAGin overlaminates delays color fading that may occur over time. This color fading is mainly dependent upon the quality of the inks (see technical data sheets given by the ink manufacturers) and pressure sensitive media being used.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Always test your combination of IMAGin products, inks and laminating films prior to commercial use.

  1. Printing Conditions:Print n conditioned pressroom at ±73°F (23°C) and 50% RH. The maximum allowable ink saturation is 270%.
  2. Drying Requirements: Solvent, Eco-solvent and Mild-solvent inkjet prints require 24 - 48 hr. drying time - open to the air. Inks do not dry when printed media is rolled up. The prints must be dry prior to lamination.
  3. Laminating Conditions: If the printed graphic is likely to be exposed to corrosive liquids, smoke, fumes, and highly polluted areas or there is a likelihood of scratching, it is highly recommended to laminate with Permacolor® Verde VL1000 series polypropylene overlaminating films.
  4. Transportation Conditions: To allow for easy transportation, IMAGin VM1229P can be rolled up, with the image out, with a minimum diameter of 6 inches (15cm). When the image is not protected by an overlaminate, make sure the print is completely dry and protected in a plastic bag. During transportation or storage, avoid exposing them to extreme temperature and humidity changes.

Permacolor® Verde™ Laminate VL1354 Lustre provides fast, efficient processing through cold roll lamination techniques without the need for heat, drying or messy coating operations. The Verde overlaminating films are a family of more environmentally sustainable products. They are intermediate pressure sensitive adhesive coated, clear modified polyolefin overlaminating films available in a variety of surface finishes. These films can be laminated to photographic prints, transparencies and digital images including: solvent- and eco-solvent and water-based inkjet prints to impart protection from abrasion, moisture and other potentially damaging effects in both indoor and outdoor environments. Verde products are REACH* compliant. VL1000 series are 3.1-mil modified polyolefin films coated on one side with a clear acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive. An ultra-smooth, 60# coated white kraft liner protects the adhesive. VL1000 laminates are designed for indoor or short term outdoor applications.

DURABILITY:
The durability of the film is 2 years in vertical (90±5°) applications outdoors and up to 5 years indoors. The durability of the image is mainly dependent upon the quality of the inks (see technical data sheets given by the ink manufacturers) and pressure sensitive media being used. Please note that exposure to severe temperatures, ultra-violet light and also tropical, sub-tropical or desert regions will cause more rapid deterioration. This also applies to areas with high pollution, high altitudes and south facing exposure.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE:
These products are resistant to Water and mild detergents.
Also resistant to most diluted acids and alkalis.
Not affected by short contact to most aliphatic hydrocarbons and alcohol.
Not recommended for use in contact with aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons.

GENERAL COMMENTS

  • Where exposure to moisture, chemicals, solvents or high pressure wash is anticipated, MACtac recommends sealing the edges with varnish, silicone or other sealant to prevent penetration by these liquids.
  • Overlaminates should not be applied onto dusty or dirty prints.
  • The mounting board must be properly prepared prior to mounting the image. This may include wiping with alcohol, light sanding or surface sealing depending on the board. Contact your board supplier for their recommendation.
  • MACtac's pressure sensitive mounting films are intended for "Cold Roll Lamination". Addition of heat on the laminator is not recommended.-  Whenever possible, always test first to ensure end-use capability.
  • Whenever applying in the field, use a soft MACtac felt squeegee or soft sleeve to avoid scratching the surface.
